What an amazing place! Wonderful accommodations, food, trails, peace, staff, and more. I organized a yoga and birthday celebration for 16 people there in April 2015 and can't speak highly enough of the experience. Please feel free to contact me if you want to discuss it more. LOVE SPIRIT FIRE. Would definitely return for another retreat.
I recently conducted my first retreat at Spirit Fire and if I could give them a million stars, I would...they earned every single one of them. Coming from California to Massachusetts without doing a site visit prior was a bit daunting however, Tim's amazing customer service and attention to detail during my planning process quickly set my mind at ease.
The center itself was GORGEOUS -- inside and out. I instantly felt welcomed -- amazing energy and a peaceful, magical, healing property/ atmosphere. The food and service exceeded my expectations in every way. Every attendee commented on how "at home" they felt at Spirit Fire. While this may have been my first retreat there, it won't be my last.
Amazing experience - beautiful property, delicious meals and the hosts - Tim and Steve - are such wonderful people. I will definitely be going back.
As a retreat leader, I have to mention that what really stood out to me most - above and beyond all the lovely elements I have mentioned - was the totally welcoming, laid-back but super professional energy of our hosts Steve and Tim. They did not miss a beat, but also allowed us to have space and never feel rushed. They were open to any question or request, making it truly feel like our home for the weekend. Even amidst their busy schedules overseeing the weekend, they warmly welcomed conversation about food/nature/meditation/whatever when various retreat-ers wanted to connect. Steve and Tim love people and it shows! I was so impressed with them, and the space and place they maintain, and would highly recommend Spirit Fire to any friend or fellow teacher.
I have been leading yoga retreats around New England for several years, but just spent my first weekend at Spirit Fire Retreat this past April. WOW. As others have mentioned, there are little touches all around the property that make it feel peaceful and welcoming - the clean and comfortable lodging, the big windows and plentiful blankets/cushions in the meditation/yoga space, the expertly arranged wood and seating at the fire circle etc. The grounds were really fun to explore (bring your hiking boots if you go when there is snow/ice on the ground so you stay dry and steady!). Then there was the delicious food which could not have been more thoughtfully or lovingly prepared. Upon our request, we were even sent a full menu several weeks before the retreat so we could ensure it would work well for our particular group.
SpiritFire Retreat Center is a remarkable place. Upon entering, the mindful attention to aesthetics, care and hospitality is quite tangible. The quality of the physical center, and the landscape around it, is nurturing, appealing, and harmonious in its appearance. The food and caring service provided by its staff is among the best we have experienced in over 35 years of attending or providing trainings, in many centers in the region, and around the world. The beauty of the actual teaching space adds to the dynamic of the teaching process. I highly recommend this precious place if you are considering an individual or group retreat.
